I would frequently attend the Tuesday Time round tables, where I would be given the opportunity to learn and discuss countless global issues with other like-minded individuals. One of the Round Tables that truly shocked me was when I learned that there are people claiming that the Holocaust never happened (May We Never Forget: The Fading Memory of the Holocaust), the creativity of these people truly amazes me; since this was such a huge portion of our history that should be both remembered and respected. This is one of the clearest examples that show that we must set aside our countries, flags, or creeds; and just step back and be citizens of the world together in harmony.
One of my favorite round tables was the one that talked about being bilingual (Being Bilingual is Easy, Right?). I particularly enjoyed this one very much, not only because I am bilingual but also because I was pursuing my certificate in translation, I believe that communication is incredibly important and the first step is to be able to speak to each other. So, learning more than one language truly prepares one to be a true citizen of the world.
